Programme Details

Introduction

The Foundation in Engineering programme is an ideal pathway to qualify for undergraduate engineering courses offered by the Faculty of Engineering at ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ, by equipping students with the necessary, pre-requisite science and engineering knowledge and skills. It also incorporates the core engineering subjects such as mechanics, electricity and magnetism, robotics and computer programming that ease the student transition from foundation level to undergraduate engineering programmes. This programme helps students to apply the language and mathematical skills required to undertake further studies as well as use computer skills and applications competently for educational purposes and enables them to make an informed decision on the branch of engineering that they would like to pursue

General Entry Criteria

  • 3 O’ Level /SSC passes with a C grade and above OR

  • Attainment of a Level 3 qualification in a related field

Alternative Entry Criteria

  • 18 years old AND

  • 1-year work experience AND

  • Ability to communicate in the language of instruction

On the successful completion of this programme participants will be able to:

  • To communicate ideas and work effectively as an individual and as a team member

  • To acquire the language and mathematical skills required to undertake further studies

  • To use computer skills and applications competently for educational purposes

  • To acquire critical thinking and research skills that are appropriate for carrying out a range of activities independently of study purposes
