The Diploma in Teaching Primary and Special Educational Needs offers a comprehensive foundation for creating inclusive learning environments. This dynamic one-year programme introduces candidates to the essential principles of primary education and special needs teaching, preparing them to thrive as SEN teachers in diverse classrooms. Students will develop a strong understanding of curriculum design, assessment strategies, and effective teaching methods tailored to the unique needs of all learners. General Entry Criteria:
• Successful completion of Higher Secondary Education OR
• Attainment of a level 4 qualification in a related field OR
• Attainment of a level 4 foundation study programme approved for the specific Diploma program
Alternative Entry Criteria
• Completion of a Level 4 qualification (unrelated), and a successful completion of an MQA approved University Preparation Program OR
• 20-year-old, completion of secondary school, 2 year of relevant work experience, and successful completion of an MQA approved University Preparation Programme
