Expanding Horizons: International Learning at The Tree House International School for Special Needs in Sri Lanka
1 min read

ÃÜÌÒÊÓƵ's commitment to comprehensive nursing education extends beyond national boundaries. Our Diploma in Nursing students recently had the enriching opportunity to visit The Tree House International School for Special Needs in Sri Lanka, significantly broadening their understanding of specialized care for children with diverse needs.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Anton James, Founder & Director, and CJ Honsaker, Assistant Director and Clinical Coordinator, for warmly welcoming our students and sharing invaluable insights into the care and treatment processes for children with special needs. Their expertise and dedication provided our students with perspectives that cannot be replicated in traditional classroom settings.

This immersive international experience proves crucial for developing well-rounded nursing professionals. By witnessing specialized care approaches in different cultural and healthcare contexts, our students deepen their empathy and develop the skills necessary to advocate for inclusive practices in their future careers. Such exposure cultivates healthcare professionals who understand the importance of individualized, compassionate care regardless of a patient's unique needs or circumstances.

This initiative directly aligns with our commitment to multiple UN Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through enhanced specialized care knowledge, SDG 4 (Quality Education) by providing transformative learning experiences, and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by preparing advocates for inclusive healthcare practices.

By providing such international exposure, we empower our students to become truly compassionate and globally-aware healthcare leaders, equipped to serve diverse populations with understanding and expertise.
