Our Master of Science in Nursing programme continues to push boundaries in specialized healthcare education. Recently, our MSc students visited the Himmafushi Drug Rehabilitation Center as a core component of their "Dual Diagnosis: Substance Misuse and Mental Health" module.
This immersive field visit provided students with crucial, real-world insights into the complex intersection of addiction and mental health—an increasingly important area of healthcare practice. By engaging directly with this specialized environment, students develop the nuanced understanding necessary for addressing dual diagnosis cases with both competence and compassion.
Such experiences are fundamental to developing the evidence-based approaches required in modern healthcare. They prepare our students not just as healthcare providers, but as thoughtful leaders capable of addressing complex health challenges with both clinical expertise and human understanding.
Through these specialized educational experiences, we are cultivating a new generation of nursing leaders committed to advancing UN Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being at the highest levels of healthcare practice.
